Portfolio Day
Our spring Portfolio Day saw us setting up base at the spectacular Allerton Castle, an 18th century gothic revival stately home nestled in acres of stunning landscaped gardens and parkland.
Our base for the day was the beautiful ballroom, and with 12 photographers and all their kit, this amazingly huge room was perfect. We started the day with the groom prep shots in the dining room after which we headed up the grand staircase to the Palace Suite Bedroom for our bridal preparation shots.

With the weather outside remaining sunny and calm, it was time to head up our afternoon session so with coffee’s still in hand we started in the Ballroom and then onto the Grand Staircase, Billiard Room and then finally the glorious Drawing Room with its stunning venetian Chandelier before heading outside.
The Portre Cochere (the gateway at the front of the house) was the first on the external shots agenda, off camera flash shots followed in the grounds and the Memorial Gardens rounded up the end of the day.
We were very fortunate in that we were given access to so many of Allerton’s finest rooms, and to give our students an amazing day: one that not only provided first class photo opportunities but also included a whole range of training, including Bride and Groom posing, lighting and hundreds of hints and tips on how a wedding day actually works. It is fair to say that our students went home buzzing and ready to take on their own weddings.

Gary & I would like to say a massive thank you to Allerton Castle and to Janet Cook for all her help in making this a fantastic day for all involved.
